The 2nd International Symposium of Forest GX/DX in Asia
and
the 10th Symposium of the Asian University Forests Consortium

We are pleased to announce that the Seoul National University (SNU) will host the 2nd International Symposium of Forest GX/DX* in Asia, held in conjunction with the 10th Symposium of the Asian University Forests Consortium (SAUFC). The event will take place at the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences, Seoul National University, in Seoul, Korea 26 to 31 October, 2025. This joint symposium is co-organized by the University of Tokyo Forests, Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, The University of Tokyo. The program will consist of a two-day academic symposium, followed by a field excursion to the Nambu University Forests and the Suncheonman National Garden & Wetland

Tentative schedule
Keynote Speeches & Invited Speeches (on Oct 27)
On the 27th of October in the morning, invited speakers from NTU, KU, UMS, UGM, HU, USJP, VNUF and UP are kindly requested to present the following topics:
1) Recent status of the research organization, facilities (incl. university forest), and activities in your university,
2) Progress and future plans for Forest GX/DX in your university forest over the past year,
3) Recent research outcomes by (faculty and/or university forest) staff and/or students related to Forest GX/DX,
4) Suggestions for potential collaboration and contributions related to Forest GX/DX in Asia.
Parallel Sessions (on Oct 28)
The main theme of this symposium is the scientific discussion for Forest GX/DX in Asian University Forests.On Oct 28, the following three parallel sessions will be held. Invited speakers from all universities are kindly requested to present their talk at either of the following three sessions. New joint research proposals will be most welcome.
■ Carbon Neutral
■ Nature Positive
■Water Positive
On the same day, we will further discuss the following topics in the wrap-up session:
■Strategy for the 3rd phase of the JSPS C2C Program
■Schedule for future activities
■ MOU as a group among member universities (not bilateral MOU)
Registration Fee
Regular fee is KRW 800,000/person and student fee is KRW 400,000/person. These fees cover transportation, accommodation, meals, the symposium, welcome reception, and the field excursion during the full program (Oct 26-31).
If you only attend the symposium program only (not field excursion), you should pay KRW 300,000/person (student: KRW 150,000) which includes transportation, accommodation,meals, the symposium, and the welcome reception for the period of Oct 26-28.
For the symposium participants who do not stay overnight at Hoam Faculty House, the registration fee is KRW 100,000/person.

Poster Presentation Guidelines
For all the poster presenters, please prepare the poster in A0 size in portrait. Each author has time for 3-min lightning oral presentation with PPT slides. Only student posters are qualified for the best poster award.
Presentation and poster .ppt file submission (by Oct 6, 2025)
For all oral and poster presenters, please send the PowerPoint presentation file (.ppt) to the symposium secretariat (nakuri21@snu.ac.kr) by Oct 6, 2025. Your PowerPoint presentations submitted to us will be printed out and shared in the symposium.
