The 1st International Symposium of Forest GX/DX in Asia

We have the great pleasure to announce you that Vietnam National University of Forestry will host the 1st International Symposium of Forest GX/DX* in Asia. The symposium will take place from November 14 to 17, 2024, at the Vietnam National University of Forestry, Hanoi, Vietnam. This Symposium is jointly organized by the Forest GX/DX Co-creation Center, the University of Tokyo Forests. The symposium will feature two days of presentations and discussions, followed by a field trip to Cuc Phuong National Park.
* "GX" and "DX" stand for "green transformation" and "digital transformation," respectively.

Invited Speeches (on November 14)
On the 14th of November, invited speakers from SNU, NTU, KU, UMS, UGM, HU, USJP, and UP are kindly requested to present on the following topics:
1) Brief introduction of research organization, facilities (incl. university forest), and activities in your university,
2) Present situation and future plans on Forest GX/DX in your university,
3) Research related to Forest GX/DX conducted by (faculty and/or university forest) staffs, and/or students,
4) Potential opportunities for collaboration and contributions to Forest GX/DX in Asia.
Parallel Sessions (on November 15)
The main theme of this symposium is scientific discussion on Forest GX/DX in Asian University Forests. On November 15, the following three parallel sessions will be held. Invited speakers from all universities are kindly requested to present in one of the following sessions. New joint research proposals are highly encouraged.
■ Carbon Neutral
■ Nature Positive
■Water Positive
On the same day, we will further discuss the following topics in the wrap-up session:
■Strategy for the 3rd phase of the JSPS C2C Program
■Schedule for future activities
■ MOU as a group among member universities (not bilateral MOU)
Registration Fee
Regular fee: USD 320/person; Student fee: USD 220/person (includes transportation, accommodation, meals, symposium, welcome reception, and field excursion from November 14-17.
- Symposium fee: USD 220/person; Student fee: USD 160/person (includes transportation, accommodation,
meals, symposium, and welcome reception from November 14–15).
- Symposium fee and Field excursion fee (without overnight stay at Xuan Mai Town): USD 260/person;
Student fee: USD 200/person.
- Symposium fee (without excursion and overnight stay at Xuan Mai Town): USD 180/person; Student fee:
USD 120/person.

Poster Presentation Guidelines
For all the poster presenters, please prepare an A0-sized poster in portrait orientation. Each author will have 3 minutes for a lightning oral presentation with PPT slides. Only student posters are qualified for the Best Poster Award.
Presentation and Poster Submission-PPT File (by Nov 8, 2024)
For all oral and poster presenters, please send the PowerPoint presentation file (.ppt) to the symposium secretariat by November 8, 2024. The submitted PowerPoint presentations will be printed and shared at the symposium.
